Light up a Life

Dedicate a light to someone you love this winter through our Light up a Life appeal, sponsored by Caddick.

Our Light up a Life appeal is a way for us to remember our loved ones at this special time of year.

You’re invited to join one of our Light up a Life services and dedicate a light to remember your loved one.

Make a dedication online by adding a light to our Winter Forest, along with a photo, message or memory, and you’ll be able to share your dedication with friends and family online. You can also dedicate a light anonymously if you wish.

All dedications received by Friday 22nd November will be recorded in the 2024 Book of Honour, which will be on display at all the services and at both of our hospices next year.

Every donation made with a dedication means that we can continue to provide the very best care to our patients and their families.

Who will you remember?

Hear from our supporter Olivia about being part of the St Ann’s Hospice family after her dad was cared for last year, and why she’s dedicating a light in his memory this year. You can read her story here.

We owe a lot to the hospice as a family, we weren’t treated like visitors, we became a member of the hospice which was so special at the time – and we’re still connected today. Olivia Hibbert, Supporter

Light up a Life services

This year we’re holding our six beautiful services of remembrance once again. The services are an opportunity to come together in reflection and celebration of the lives of loved ones. We would be delighted if you could join us.

When you dedicate a light online, you will be able to choose which service you would like to attend and how many places you would like. Please click the links below for further information on each service.

St Ann's Hospice Light Up A Life

This year the services at the hospice sites will be led by the In-Memory and Legacy Fundraiser, and the church services will be held by our hospice Chaplain. The services will include songs from the choir, words from those in the St Ann’s community, carols, a poem and the lighting of the tree. There will also be a moment of reflection where you can place a decoration on the tree in memory of your loved one.

Bereavement support

Many of us welcome talking to others when a person who is close has died – and usually rely on friends and family. But sometimes it can help to talk to someone who is not so closely involved. This is where we can help.
